The Official Review of the 2018 FIA World Rally Championship
There were thirteen rounds in the 46th World Rally Championship starting in Haute-Alpes for Rallye Monte Carlo in January before culminating in Australia in November.
The biggest change of the year was the substitution of the Rally of Poland for the return to Turkey for the first time since 2010. The were also tweaks to the routes in Monte Carlo, Mexico, Tour de Corse and Wales Rally GB,
Citroen, Ford, Toyota and Hyundai remained committed to the event, fielding strong talent in the forms of Ogier, Neuville,Tanak, Latvala and Lappi amongest others.
It was a hard fought season that saw a tight title fight between Neuville,Tanak, and Ogier eventually deceided in favour of the defending champion but only at the final round of the year.
Perhaps the biggest suprise of the year was the winning return of Sebastein Loeb at the Rally de Catalunya.
