Description

Le Mans was the setting for the Grand Prix de Vitesse. Both Wayne Rainey in the 500cc event and Luca Cadalora in the 250cc class were looking for third place or better to realise their respective World Championship dreams. Rainey's main rivals were Doohan and Schwantz. This is the race that features one of the most memorable head-to-head duels you're ever likely to see. Don't blink as they cross the finishing line - it's that close! Meanwhile Luca Cadalora and 15 other riders crashed on oil at the end of lap three in the 250cc event (in full view of our cameras) and the re-run was fraught with tension...
