Rally and chapionship resultsThe 1987 Lombard RAC Rally would see the destination of the World Rally Championship decided in dramatic fashion. Experience the intense battle for victory in this fantastic highlights programme, packed with amazing action footage, interviews with the stars and breathtaking in-car footage. With points leader Miki Biasion on the sidelines, Lancia teammates Juha Kankkunen and Markku Alen would be going flat out to overhaul him, and each other. However, the Flying Finns would face strong challenges from Jimmy McRae and Stig Blomqvist in Ford Sierra Cosworths, Russell Brookes in a Lancia Delta HF, veteran Per Eklund in a privately entered Audi Quattro and many more hard-charging stars. Not forgetting sportscar legend Derek Bell in his very first rally! A roll on stage two - captured in this film - ruined Alen's run. Another off-road excursion as he battled to catch Kankkunen ended his hopes, leaving the reigning World Champion to coast to victory, and another title. Behind Kankkunen the battle for runner-up spot ended under a cloud of controversy. Four days of incredible action, from parks and stately homes to the forests of Wales, Yorkshire and the Borders - get set for some classic rallying drama.
