Description

In this episode of RapidTech we look at motorsport technology from a variety of different areas and eras. Our featured F1 car is the innovative, 1977 Renault RS01 turbo - the first F1 turbocar and also the car around which Michelin made their return. Former Williams design engineer, Neil Oatley, talks about the brilliant Williams FW07 and his regular driver in 1980-81 - the ultra-quick Carlos Reutemann. From his "garage", Craig Scarborough brings to the studio a selection of F1 dampers: they're more complicated than you might think and Craig does a great job in explanation. Finally, Julia Piquet continues our glossary of motorsport tech terms - including "G for Gurney Flap".
